1. What does Delta Sigma Pi do?
-We hold 4 different types of events
-Professional Events: speakers from companies; company tours; case-study competitions, etc.
-Social Events: trips to Big Bear, Las Vegas, Palm Springs; karaoke, game nights, bowling,
inter-chapter events etc.
-Community Service Events: Family Day in Balboa Park, Pet adoption centers, food banks, etc.
-Fundraising Events: BBQ on Library Walk, Staff-Pro, Petco Park
-We are organized to run like a business, with officers, committees, meetings, bylaws, etc.
2. What is the difference between Alpha Kappa Psi and us?
-As a fraternity:
-We are open to majors of economics, management science, international studies with econ
emphasis, and joint math/econ. Alpha Kappa Psi is open to all majors.
-As an individual chapter:
-We are a smaller chapter: value quality over quantity, we look for stronger brotherhood, we
like to make sure everyone knows each other on a personal level
-We are newer: you can be a part of the development and establishment of this fairly new
chapter; see it grow
-We are endorsed both by the UCSD Economics department and Rady School of Management
3. How is Delta Sigma Pi different from other professional business clubs and organizations?
-As a Fraternity, there is more interaction on a personal level, more of a sense of brotherhood.
We are not just companions in business, but are also close friends.
-We have a long history as a national fraternity, 100+ years
-We have a strong social network that extends to not only chapter and national alumni, but also
to companies around the area

4. What are the benefits of being in a fraternity?

5. What are the qualifications to be a pledge?
-Appropriate major: economics, management science, international studies with econ emphasis,
and joint math/econ
-Minimum GPA of 2.0
-4 units of college credit (AP credits count towards this)
6. Does Delta Sigma Pi haze?
-No, we do not haze. We have a very strict risk management policy from the national fraternity.
-We treat our pledges with respect.
7. What is expected of me once I pledge?
-Dedication and attendance, desire to get to know the other pledges and brothers
-As a pledge class, host 1 professional event, 1 community service event, 1 social event, and
1 fundraiser event
-Willingness to develop team skills, time management
-$136 fee, covers pledge program and materials, no money goes to the chapter
8. What is the time commitment for pledging?
-7 week program
-Once a week pledge meeting
-Pledge events (see Question 7)
-Comparable to a 4 unit course
