Delta Sigma Pi was founded in 1907 at New York University: School of Commerce, Accounts and Finance by Harold Valentine Jacobs, Alexander Frank Makay, Alfred Moysello and Henry Albert Tienken. Today, coast to coast, more than 260 chapters and nearly 200,000 members support the goals and ideals of the Fraternity.

The Delta Sigma Pi, Omicron Sigma chapter, located at the University of California, San Diego, was founded on May 22, 2004. After an intense year of hard work and perseverance, 26 founding members brought a new way to look at business at UCSD. Since an undergraduate business program does not exist at UCSD, the goal of the Omicron Sigma chapter is to bring professional development and business education to the campus.

President's Message

	Delta Sigma Pi is an international co-ed professional business fraternity established in order to 
promote the study of business in elite universities around the world. Members in Delta Sigma Pi not 
only possess the skills and tools necessary to excel, but also maintain the highest standards of 
integrity and ethics while conquering the world of business. When brothers are not making leaps and 
bounds in the world of business we can be seen giving back to our community through service. Our aims 
of leadership, professionalism, service, and brotherhood are the basis of our success. The values in 
which this fraternity was founded ensure that Delta Sigma Pi is America's foremost business fraternity.

	The Omicron Sigma Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi at the University of California San Diego will help 
you achieve your professional goals by giving you the essential tools needed to succeed. Our 
professional training will challenge you to step out of the norm and teach you to use these tools 
to be a step ahead of the competition.  Through this developmental process you will develop 
leadership, professionalism, a passion for service, and form a network of brothers unrivaled by 
any other business organization on campus. What sets Delta Sigma Pi apart from other business 
organizations on campus is our development of brotherhood. The bonds that will be formed and 
maintained will be an invaluable tool needed to achieve success.

	In addition to having the necessary professional tools for success being a member of Delta Sigma 
Pi will allow you to build a network of friends and brothers who have similar professional interests. 
You will also have a vast network of alumni and brothers in all different fields and industries. 
Many of our brothers and alumni have obtained positions at prestigious firms such as Deloitte, 
Goldman Sachs, Intuit, and Merrill Lynch to name a few.  Being part of Delta Sigma Pi not only 
helps you grasp a better understanding of business but also prepares you for life. Delta Sigma Pi 
provides you with the necessary qualitative skills which supplement the quantitative skills learned 
at our university. Some skills learned are to work efficiently and well with others, to share 
experiences and ideas, and to observe and develop leadership and communication skills. The practice 
of tolerance, consideration, and mutual respect are important benefits generated from the teamwork 
environment found in the Delta Sigma Pi experience.
